Hund's Rule

  2. What is shielding? Whence does it arise?

    There is a Hamiltonian that just has KE and the electron nucleon interaction. There is another Hamiltonian that additionally includes e-e interaction. Which one encompasses shielding?

    The other thing I would ask anyone who is endeavoring to explain the origin of Hund's rules is: what is the role of wave-function anti-symmetrization?
